The Annual Jawaharlal Nehru Declamation competition took off to a flying start on May 25, 2011. Hosted at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium at The Indian High School, Dubai, the competition saw the best speakers from all the schools in UAE vying for the top position for their schools. True to its prestige and reputation, the competition had some very exciting and some stellar performances that left one and all spell bound.

There were over 20 schools participating this year. There were three categories – namely, Senior, Junior and Sub Juniors. Girls and boys competed separately amongst themselves in each category. The topics were provided and common to participants in each group and it was interesting to see a variety of approaches adopted by each speaker.

Aruna Krishnan from Grade 11 secured the third position in the senior category, thus adding yet another feather to DPS Sharjah's achievements.
